PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE STANDING ORDERS OF THE LEGISLATIVE
COUNCIL
Thank you for your letter of 12 January informing us of the proposed amendment to Standing Order 60 of the Legislative Council which will allow the Finance Committee to meet ordinarily in public.
Given the success of the experiment of holding the special meetings to consider the draft estimates in public, this amendment seems very appropriate. We do not expect it to cause much, if any, press interest here, but are grateful for the advance notice.
