If the Chief Secretary or Financial Secretary is to reply, the Secretary concerned will submit a draft, in consultation with other relevant Heads of Departments or Secretaries, to the Chief Secretary or Financial Secretary for final approval; this should not be later than noon on the Friday before the sitting.

The official reply should be sent directly to the Clerk to the Legislative Council before 5 p.m. on the Tuesday prior to the sitting. He will send copies to the Chief Secretary or Financial Secretary, the Director of Information Services, Director of Broadcasting and the Secretariat Press Officer. Copies for Council Members will be distributed immediately after the sitting.
