Kong's airline, Cathay Pacific Airways, agreed. These
issues had been discussed when the air service agreement
was
considered by the Council in August 1984, but she
wished to make the point again that she considered it
unfair to Hong Kong's interest.

SECRETARY OF STATE'S SPEECH AT
SECOND READING OF THE HONG KONG BILL
Copies of the Secretary of State's speech at
the debate on the Second Reading of the Hong Kong Bill
the previous evening were distributed. The Deputy to
the Governor thought that he detected the influence of
Unofficials in some of the speeches, for example in that
of Mr Faulds. It was noted that about 50 Members of
Parliament had been present at the beginning and end of
the debate.
