(c) MAGISTRATES
The Attorney General undertook to inform the
Council of the circumstances giving rise to media
reports that ten Magistrates were leaving the
Judiciary.
(d) JOINT DECLARATION: LAND MATTERS
The Governor informed Mr F.W. Li that the
drafting of legislation to implement the land
aspects of the Joint Declaration would be completed
by the end of March. The need for urgency was well
understood.

VALEDICTORY
The Governor reported that Mr T.S. Lo had
tendered his resignation from both Executive and
Legislative Councils. He had accepted these with
regret. Mr Lo had been a Member of the Council
since April 1980 and of the Legislative Council
