KOHIMA BARRACKS AND LANTAU TRAINING CAMP
(SCR 7/1486/77 V)
The Council considered memorandum XCS (85) 2.
The Council ADVISED and the Governor ORDERED:
(a)
that, subject to the agreement
of HMG, the Kohima
Barracks
project should not proceed;
(b) that the Lantau Training Camp
project should be allowed to
continue in a reduced form as
recommended in paragraph 26
of
the memorandum;
(c) that, subject to the agreement
of HMG, Lyemun barracks should

be given up when it is required
for other purposes in two years'
time;
HKG should approach HMG with a
view to reducing the number of
resident battalions to four; and
that the press statement should
be agreed with the FCO.
