An Ordinance to amend the Employees' Compensation Ordinance.
[14 June 1985]
Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.
1.
This Ordinance may be cited as the Employees' Compensation (Amend- Short title. ment) Ordinance 1985.
2. Section 10(2) of the principal Ordinance is amended by inserting after Amendment of "practitioner" the following-
“, a registered dentist, an Ordinary Assessment Board or a Special Assessment Board".

3. Section 16A(1)(a) of the principal Ordinance is amended by deleting ", for a Amendment of period not exceeding 14 days”.

Section 16C of the principal Ordinance is repealed.

Repeal of section 16C.
Section 16D(2)(b) of the principal Ordinance is amended by inserting before Amendment of "a Labour Officer" the following-
"a Senior Labour Officer or".
6. Section 16G of the principal Ordinance is amended—
(a) by deleting subsection (1) and substituting the following--
"(1) An objection to an assessment by an Ordinary Assessment Board under section 16D(5) or by a Special Assessment Board under section 16E(8) or (9) may be made by the employer, the employee or the Commissioner in writing to the Ordinary Assessment Board or the Special Assessment Board, as the case may be, within 14 days after the date of issue to him of the relevant certificate under section 16F, or within such further time as the Ordinary Assessment Board or the Special Assessment Board, in the circumstances of any particular case, thinks fit, stating the ground of the objection, and a copy of the objection shall be sent by the objector-
(a) where the objector is the employer, to the employee and the
Commissioner;
(b) where the objector is the employee, to the employer and the
Commissioner; or
(c) where the objector is the Commissioner, to the employer and
the employee."; and
(b) by inserting after subsection (7) the following-
"(8) Subsections (2), (3), (4), (5), (6) and (7) shall not apply where an assessment is reviewed under section 16GA(2).”.
