It will also enable us to introduce him to the more friendly members of the Basic Law Drafting Committee, etc. in Hong Kong so that he can make informal contact with them when they are in Peking. I think we can now identify fairly clearly who our most useful contacts on the Basic Law Drafting Committee will be and I think it important that Peter should be on easy terms with them.
