Dear Hugh.
LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL STANDING ORDERS
Thank you for your letter of 26 April. I think that in fact your letter may have crossed with one from Dr Cashmore dated 22 April, of which I had received a side copy. On receipt of your latest letter I spoke to Dr Cashmore.
I gather that he has sent you a copy of the "Kenyan" Standing Orders. He suspects that this relic (and others like it) may not be of too much help to you, because I gather they all tend to refer to Westminster parallels over much. However, if digesting the Kenyan version whets your appetite for more, I can ask the FCO or Commons Libraries to produce other varieties. Please let me know. (You may also wish to bear in mind that Fred Burrows,
to join you from our Legal Advisers, should also be able to give you advice on this).

In your last paragraph you ask about the signed copies of the Letters Patent and Royal Instructions. I am afraid that, in some confusion after the demise of CAB as to who was now responsible for what, I sent the copies to Lee Lap-sun under cover of a letter dated 16 April. (Not the originals, by the way, but printed copies
I am assuming that the originals should remain in the FCO files). Please let me know if my letter to Lap-sun went astray.
