Sessions of the Legislative.
Council.
XXIA. (1) Subject to paragraph 3 there shall be
one session of the Legislative Council in every
twelve
consecutive period of months that begins on
1 October in each year.
(2) Subject to paragraph 3 each session of
the Legislative Council shall commence on such date and
end on such date as the Governor shall appoint by notice
published in the Hong Kong Government Gazette, but the
period between the last sitting of one session of the
Council and the first sitting of the next session shall
not exceed three months.
(3) Where the Legislative Council is
dissolved during a session in any period of twelve months
referred to in paragraph (1), that session shall
thereupon end and if an election following a dissolution
of the Council is held before the expiration of the
said period of 12 months, another session in the same
period:-
(a)
(b)
may be held if the unexpired part of
such period remaining after the holding of
such elections does not exceed three months;
shall be held in accordance with paragraph (2)
if the unexpired part of such period remaining
after holding such elections exceeds three
months.
