Addition of new lause XXVIIIA to
the principal Instructions
10.
The principal Instructions are amended by
adding, immediately after clause XXVIII, the following:
"Dissolution of Council
XXVIIIA. (1) The Governor
may at any time, by Order published
in the Hong Kong Government Gazette
dissolve the Legislative Council:
Provided that unless it has been
sooner dissolved, the Council
shall stand dissolved on the
ninetieth day before the third
anniversary of the first sitting
of the Council following the
latest election for all the
Elected Members of the Council.

[(2) Alternative 2:
Where the Legislative Council is
dissolved prior to the ninetieth day
before the third anniversary of the
first sitting of the Council following
the latest election for all the
Elected Members of the Council,
clause XIIA (
(1) shall have effect as if
there were substituted for sub-clause
(b) the following sub-clause:-
" (b)
during the three months
following the dissolution
of the Council."]
