AMENDING LETTERS PATENT AND ADDITIONAL ROYAL INSTRUCTIONS
Done
1.
2.
I have now had an opportunity of checking these proofs.
The only amendment that needs to be made to the draft
Letters Patent is that "instructions" in the first line of
new Article VI (3) should have a capital "I".
3.
With regard to the Royal Instructions, I have made two
editorial changes as follows:-
The last line of Clause 1(4) should read "before the
date of coming into operation of the Hong Kong Letters
Patent 1985.". I think it is desirable to make it
clear that the governing document is the Letters Patent in case there are, by chance, different dates of operation for the Letters Patent and the additional
Instructions;
The passage in quotations in the last line of
Clause 8 should read "Article VI (1) (b) of Our Letters
Patent as set out in the Hong Kong Letters Patent 1985".
3. Would you make these changes on the drafts you send to
Hong Kong.
