London, the Embassy in Peking or the Hong Kong Government in
Hong Kong). So can the necessary secretarial, registry and communications assistance, although in time some degree of
reinforcement may turn out to be necessary. It would be helpful if
a Hong Kong Government interpreter could participate in meetings of the Group and in sub-groups.
18. After July 1988 the resident British representative in Hong Kong will need a certain degree of resident administrative back-up (perhaps 2 diplomatic staff, together with the necessary secretarial and registry personnel). Detailed questions concerning staffing in Hong Kong after 1 July 1988 can be examined separately.
