PRIME MINISTER'S VISIT TO PEKING: SECRETARY OF STATE'S PROGRAMME
1. Mr Ricketts has told us that the Secretary of State would like
to fit in a separate meeting with Wu Xueqian during the Prime Minister's visit to Peking.

2. The Chinese have not yet proposed a detailed programme, cannot therefore judge how a separate meeting could best be fitted
in. I think it would however be as well to put down a marker with the Chinese at this stage. I submit a self-explanatory draft
telegram. It should if possible be sent off this evening: Sir R
Evans is expecting to call on Zhou Nan tomorrow.
