For your own information,, the Prime
Minister does not wish to enter into any firm
commitment about her visit to South East Asia
yet and while the present industrial situation Donald's
persists. We know (teleletter to Boyd of
31 October and Kuala Lumpur telno 385) that there
are difficulties for host governments about dates
in the first part of the year but it may still be
possible to find a mutually convenient time then.
You should not, however, speculate about this.
Our essential concern now, is to reassure host
governments of the priority the Prime Minister
continues to attach to her visit without tying
Ourselves down on dates.
