I am writing to confirm your appointment as a member of the Monitoring Team which has been appointed by the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs to test the acceptability in Hong Kong of the agreement reached with the Chinese Government on the future of the territory. Your appoint- ment will begin on 25 September 1984 and terminate at the end of November 1984, at a date to be specified.

I confirm that during the period of the appointment you will continue to be paid as usual and to enjoy all your existing pensionable and medical benefits as a member of the Hong Kong Judicial Service.
