actual method of paying Sir Patrick his fee is quite complicated. It involves Sir Patrick writing to you to claim the fees for the number of days he has been in Hong Kong. We then pass this letter to PSD and Finance Department who authorise payment into his bank account. This process will take at least 10 days. I have told Sir Patrick about this and he is prepared to write to you at the end of October asking for his fees. However I have since found out from Finance Department that I could make a claim for an advance of part of Sir Patrick's fees at the end of October and ask them to be paid into his account. This amount would then be deducted from Sir Patrick's final claim at the end of November. This can be discussed with him again on 24 September.
