Summing up the findings of 1.4 and 4.1
On the choice of government for Hong Kong, the opinions of res- pondents in all age groupswere similar. Most favoured 'Hongkong people administering Hong Kong'; 'the next popular choice was 'British adminis tration' while a small minority (1.36% - 4.05%) chose 'Chinese adminis- tration'. The findings also indicate a peculiar tendency, that is, the older the respondent, the more he/she tended to favour 'Hongkong people administering Hong Kong', but the younger the respondent, the more he/she tended to favour British administration'.
