Following the publication of the draft agreement Hong Kong's future, Survey Research Hongkong Ltd., professional market research company, conducted a large opinion survey on Hong Kong people's reaction to the draft agreement. A random sample of 6,264 respondents were selected and they were interviewed and asked a series of questions about their views on the draft agreement.

The survey,
initiated by SRH, was sponsored primarily by the Hong Kong Commercial Broadcasting Co. Ltd., the Ming Pao Daily News, the Oriental Daily News, the South China Morning Post Ltd. and UMELCO.
