Taking the students' families as samples for analysis, we

find that not many people are seriously thinking about amigrating or

leaving Hong Kong. And the great majority of students do not favour

leaving Hong Kong at present, revealing their confidence in Hong Kong'

future and their positive thinking about maintaing the people's

confidence and Hong Kong's stability.

Conclusion

The students' views on the sovereignty issue have on the whole

remained unchanged since the last survey. Though the majority are ready

to accept the "special administrative region" proposal as a solution to

the question of Hong Kong's future, they attach great importance to

whether or not China would fulfil its promises,

The studenta' view on democratisation is consistent with the

standpoint of the Students' Union. Their desire for a liberal government
