policy of targetted support rather than indiscrimate subsidy.

Student mobility within the Commonwealth was discussed at the

9th Conference of Commonwealth Education Ministers in Nicosia

in July and Ministers will be meeting again at the time of the

UNESCO's General Conference next autumn to report on how their

various policies are supporting student mobility. A FCO-led

governmental group is now looking at the various HMG's supported schemes and this will show what is being done by the HMG-supported schemes to further Commonwealth student mobility.
