Internal Political Situation

Note that the All-Party Conference to consider draft
legislation has been postponed until mid-December. Hope a solution acceptable to all communities can be reached.
Prime Minister's Visit
2.
The Prime Minister was pleased to meet President Jayewardene
at Mrs Gandhi's funeral on 3 November. The Prime Minister hopes to
reinstate her visit early next year. Precise dates not yet fixed.
