admission to UK of special categories of Hong Kong citizens
security and police.

1. Congratulations. Requested assurance that as many ordinary Hong Kong people as possible would continue to be involved in negotiations. Whom will JLG report to and how often? Will there be discussions on reports of JLG? How will important question of
nationality be tackled?

1. Congratulations. Hope that LEGCO endorsement of agreement will give lead to Hong Kong people. Uncertainty and anxiety in Hong Kong
over those who are statless and right of abode for some : change required under agreement in relatively short time. Hope that
Ministers will see certain parliamentarians to look at these cases. Confidence is brittle changes necessary in Hong Kong should not be
put forward too dogmatically.
