BRIEFING NATO
During the run up to the initialling of the agreement we briefed the
NATO Permanent Council on the background 6 the negotiations and on
the likely form and content of the agreement. On the day of
initialling, we gave Permanent Representatives a copy of the
agreement.
Certain members of NATO were briefed in detail of developments in
the negotiations. We briefed the USA and Canada bilaterally. We briefed EC countries through the Political Co-operation Meetings of
the EC.
