Brig Mohammad Rafi, member of the PDPA Central Committee Politburo and Vice- Chairman of the DRA Council of Ministers, and a number of the Central Committee members.
At the start of the meeting, a report was presented by Raz Mohammad Paktin, the Minister of Electrical Energy, and then Brig Mohammad Rafi spoke of the struggle of the heroic workers who had taken part in the repair of the electric pylons. He conveyed to them the sincere good wishes of the PDPA Central Committee and the DRA government and the personal thanks of Babrak Karmal, General Secretary of the PDPA Central Committee and President of the DRA Revolutionary Council. Finally, the Vice Chairman of the DRA Council of Ministers distributed the Sadaqat medals, which had been. approved by the DRA Revolutionary Council Presidium, commendation certificates of the Ministry of Electrical Energy, and cash presents from the Council of Ministers to a number of heroic and self-sacrificing workers who had taken part in this great task. Arrival of Soviet agricultural delegation
Leonid Ivanovich Khitrun, member of the CPSU Central Committee, member of the USSR Supreme Soviet and Chairman of the USSR State Committee for Supply of Production Equipment for Agriculture, arrived in Kabul on 3rd December at the head of a delegation for a friendly official visit at the invitation of the Minister of Agriculture and Land Reform.
Serwar Mangal, member of the Party Central Committee and Vice-Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Chairman of the State Planning Committee of the DRA; Abdol Ghafar Lakanwal, member of the Party Central Committee and the Minister of Agriculture and Land Reform; and Mohammad Hasan Payman, member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Agriculture at the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reform; met the delegation. Igamberdyyev, chairman of State Commitee for the Supply of Production Equipment for Agriculture of the Uzbek SSR; and Akmal Babayev, Chairman of State Committee for the Supply of Production Equipment for Agriculture of the Tadzhik SSR, are members of the Soviet delegation. British Labour MP at AAPSO conference (Text) A British Member of Parliament, Ron Brown, strongly denounced today [2nd December] the undeclared war of reaction and imperialism waged against Afghanistan through financing, arming and training of counter- revolutionary elements. He also condemned the USA and West's psychological war against the DRA. The British Labour MP, who is here to attend AAPSO's Kabul conference on a new international information order, in a interview with a Bakhtar correspondent, said that the people of Afghanistan were able to overthrow the old feudal regime through their consistent struggles and adopted a new course of life for their socio-economic growth. Ron Brown expressed his gratitude to the working people of the DRA for their solidarity with the striking British mine workers whose rights have [words indistinct] government of Margaret Thatcher. Introduction of master degree courses at Kabul University Kabul University will be conducting master degree courses in all major disciplines by the year 1989. This was stated by Borhanuddin Ghiasi, Minister of Higher and Vocational Education, while inaugurating an academic conference of students of Kabul University in Kabul on 2nd December.
