Military enterprises to help develop auto industry (Excerpts) A leading comrade of the State Council called for military industrial departments to develop the auto industry with their production capabilities. The Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defence recently called a special meeting to discuss this matter. The meeting decided to make full use of the favourable conditions of military industrial enterprises in technology and equipment to produce various types of motor vehicles on the principle of specialisation and large-scale co-operation and with good quality, high standards and good economic results. . .

Gansu science association to help enterprises The provincial conference on scientific work which concluded on 29th November put forward that it is necessary to help township and town enterprises develop and to regard this as the starting point of scientific work and scientific reform. The Provincial Science Association has reached an agreement with the provincial township and town enterprises management bureau and is prepared to help 500 township and town enterprises. It has asked each of the industrial departments at the provincial level and all societies, research institutes and prefectural and county associations to help a township and town enterprise at the least. New Xinhua economic service Beginning from 1st January 1985, Xinhua will have an economic information service. Death of NPC legal adviser Zhou Renshan, adviser to the law committee of the sixth NPC and former deputy chairman of the Legislative Affairs Commission of the NPC Standing Committee, died of illness in Peking on 7th November at the age of 72. (Xinhua in Chinese 1633 gmt 30 Nov 84)

Tianjin CPPCC official dies
