Thank you for your letter of 28 March about your visit
to China and the Far East.
I am very grateful for your account of your meetings
with Zhou Nan and Huang Hua. I am sure that your
explanation of the legal and parliamentary aspects of
the negotiations on Hong Kong's future will have been
helpful to your interventions. These are areas where
Chinese and British practice are far apart and under-
standing is not easy to achieve.
Thank you also for your good wishes for my own visit.
