IPU CONTACTS WITH THE CHINESE
1. Mr Jack Page MP told Mr Luce last night that he had struck up a good rapport with the head of the Chinese Delegation (Mr Gang Biao) at a recent IPU meeting in Geneva. They had discussed Hong Kong, with Mr Page emphasising the strong Parliamentary interest in this question.
2.
If an appropriate opportunity arises while the Secretary of State is in Peking, Mr Luce wondered whether it would be worth mentioning how much value we attach to Parliamentary contacts of this sort.
