CHATHAM HOUSE: RESEARCH STUDIES
1. In his minute of 1 March Andrew Colquhoun sought departments' views about a number of possible subjects for Chatham House studies. In view of the need to obtain funds from Finance Department before they close their books for the current financial year, we have been forced to act on this before the expiry of Andrew Colquhoun's deadline for comments of 12 March. On the basis of very favourable comments about plans for studies on the Two Germanies and Turkey Planning Staff are seeking financial authority for these projects and will not puruse any of the other suggestions.
2. I attach (for action addressees only) a copy of a letter from, Miss Pearce giving a more detailed idea of the scope of the studies Chatham House would propose to carry out.
3. I should be grateful for any comments as soon as possible.
