All travelling must be in possession of a valid passport. Visas are required for China and arrangements have been put in hand for these to be obtained for the official party. News Department are arranging visas for the accompanying journalists.

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS

The Civil Service Medical Adviser recommends the following innoculations (none are obligatory):

China

Hong Kong

Typhoid (valid 3 years) Tetanus (valid 10 years) Polio (valid 5 years)

Tetanus Polio

Anyone who has had previous TAB innoculations and is now over the age of 40 may discontinue the boosting procedure.

Persons requiring innoculations may make appointments with the Civil Service Medical Adviser, Tilbury House, Petty France (tel no 213 4111).

PERSONAL BAGGAGE AND BAGGAGE LABELS

Those travelling in the RAF VC10 may take with them up to 66 lb of personal baggage.

On scheduled air services, the free baggage allowance between the UK and Hong Kong for club passengers is 30 kg (66 lb).

Baggage labels colour coded as follows are enclosed for the party travelling on the VC10:

In addition, all items to be cabin loaded must bear a YELLOW label.

The Conference Officer will have spare labels.

Unused labels must be kept under safe care and returned to Conference and Visits Section. Old labels should not be left in hotels.
