DUTY TRAVEL BUDGET: 1984/85
1. PSD have asked for revised estimates to cover anticipated travel during the financial year 1984/85.
2. It is clear from the PSD minute that the overall sum available for AUS travel budgets this year is less than the total of forecasts submitted when estimates were made last autumn. PSD have asked that departments should not build any contingency sums in to specific events. In order to ensure that we get our fair share of the cake, all forecasts should therefore be specific (eg for HKD we should assume the need for whatever visits we think likely to deal with the Hong Kong problem).
3. We are asked to include any requirements for travel by Legal Advisers on the business of geographical departments.
4. Could I please have revised forecasts to put to PSD on my return on 30 April.
