YOUR VISIT TO THE FAR EAST:
HEADS OF MISSION CONFERENCE
1. At your meeting on 26 September I undertook to put up a progress report on planning for your visit to Japan and Korea, on which decisions are now needed. The main factor affecting your timing is the proposed Heads of Mission min-conference, on which we now have replies from all who will be concerned. The following timetable would seem to be acceptable to all:
Friday 23 November
Leave London.
Mr Spreckley arrives in Tokyo on bag run.
Saturday 24 November
You and Sir R Evans arrive in Tokyo.
Sunday 25 November
Free (but informal gossip with the three Ambassadors of course possible).
Monday 26 November
Heads of Mission Conference.
Tuesday 27 November
Discussions with Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Sir R Evans and Mr Spreckley return to post.
Wednesday 28 November

Industrial visit.
Travel to Seoul.
Thursday 29 November
Calls in Seoul.
