FUTURE OF HONG KONG: THE LORD FANSHAWE OF RICHMOND
1.
In your minute of 26 March to Mr Clift you recorded Mr Luce's conversation with Lord Fanshawe about the latter's oral PQ on the recent LEGCO debate.
2.
Lord Fanshaw has now withdrawn this PQ, but has replaced it with the following PQ for answer on 11 April:
"To ask Her Majesty's Government whether they will make a statement on the forthcoming visit of the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs to Peking and Hong Kong."
We are submitting a reply on uncontentious lines.

In your minute you mentioned Lord Fanshawe's interest in meeting some of the EXCO Unofficials when they visit London later this week. We shall let his office know where they are staying.
