SECRETARY OF STATE'S VISIT TO THE FAR EAST
1. I have discussed the sequence of minutes ending with Mr Ricketts' minute of 23 January with Mr Clift. We are agreed that we should as soon as possible send instructions to Tokyo and Seoul to approach Governments with the revised dates; and that the visits to Hong Kong and Peking, perhaps preferably in that order, should follow those to Korea and Japan.

I therefore submit a draft telegram. Mr Ricketts' minute of 23 January invited the views of Mr Luce and Sir P Cradock; you may therefore like to put the draft to them.
