I would propose that the "FCO officials" be Mr Donald's successor as AUS, Dr Wilson (who needs no introduction to China or Hong Kong but would welcome an early opportunity to visit Japan and Korea) and Mr Uden, Head of the Japan/Korea Section in FED.
7. We have asked posts for suggestions for Lady Howe's programme. When these are received I shall submit recommendations.
