PLANT PROTECTION AGREEMENT FOR ASIA AND PACIFIC REGION
1.
We spoke on 6 August about Mr Armstrong's minute of May 1984.
2. Our Hong Kong Department consulted us in May about the proposed amendments and their reply to Mr Armstrong incorporated our views. This is to confirm, however, that FED have no objection to either of the proposed amendments. We would indeed very much welcome China's inclusion in the agreement, which is part of a general trend of increasing participation by China in international fora.
