HONG KONG: LETTER FROM REG FREESON MP
1.
Mr Freeson wrote to the Secretary of State on 27 November about
direct elections to the Legislative Council of Hong Kong. In his
letter he mentions the proposals of the Joint Conference on the Green Paper on Representative Government. I presume that Mr Freeson
received one of the Joint Conference's circular letters, to which Mr
Luce replied on 27 November.
2. I submit a reply based on Mr Luce's reply to the Chairman of
the Joint Conference, Mr Szeto Wah and a committee member, Mr Ding.
