effect which will stay any further proceedings, civil
or criminal, arising out that evidence, excepting any
proceedings in respect of false statements made by
him.
5. Part IV sets out a number of offences and
the penalties applicable. Part V contains a number
of miscellaneous provisions. Clauses 21 and 22
make provision regarding the admissibility as evidence
of the journals of the House of Commons and the
Legislative Council. Clause 23 makes it an offence
for any person to print any Ordinance or other
document as purporting to have been printed by the
Government Printer. Clause 24 confers protection
on persons responsible for publications authorized
by the Legislative Council, and clause 25 confers
protection on persons publishing extracts from reports
and other documents without notice. Clause 26
provides that neither the President nor any officer
of the Council shall be subject to the jurisdiction of
the courts in respect of powers exercisable under the
Ordinance or Standing Orders. Clause 27 confers
upon officers of the Council the powers and privileges
of a police officer for the purposes of the Ordinance.
By clause 28, the consent of the Attorney General
is required for the institution of a prosecution for
an offence under the Ordinance. Clause 29 enables
the Clerk to exercise the powers and perform the
duties of the President during the latter's absence or
incapacity. Clause 30 provides that the powers of
