Clause 27 gives constabulary powers to the
officers of the Council. It is the intention that the
policing of the Council's precincts should be done by
the staff directly responsible to the President.
19.
Clause 28 provides that there should be no
prosecution for any offence under the Bill without the
written sanction of the Attorney General.
Financial and staffing implications
20.
The Bill does not in itself have any public
service or financial implications. The proposals to
create new posts to staff the Legislative Council
Chamber after its removal to the old Supreme Court
building will be considered in the normal way.
