No. 12 of 1967.
AN ACT to substitute the office of Director of Public Prosecutions for that of the Attorney-General in the performance of certain legal functions and for purposes incidental thereto.

Be it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the House of Assembly of Saint Christopher Nevis and Anguilla, and by the authority of the same as follows:-
1. This Act may be cited as the Director of Public Prosecutions Act and shall be deemed to have come into force on the 27th day of Febru- ary, 1967.
2. (1) Wherever in any Act, Ordinance or other law it is provided that the fiat, consent, leave or direction of the Attorney-General shall be necessary before any prosecution for a crimi- nal offence may be instituted or commenced, the fiat, consent, leave or direction of the Director of Public Prosecutions shall be sufficient to satisfy that provision of such Act, Ordinance or other law.
(2) Notwithstanding the provision of any other law or rule to the contrary, an indictment within the meaning of the Criminal Procedure Act may be signed for or on behalf of the Di- rector of Public Prosecutions by a Crown Coun- sel or other legal officer purporting to be acting in that capacity for or on behalf of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
