(MISCELLANEOUS AMENDMENTS)
10. Regulation 26(2) is amended---
(a) in sub-paragraph (e) by deleting the full stop at the end and substituting a
semicolon;
(b) by inserting at the end the following-
"(/) public officers authorized in writing by the Director, Councils and
Administration Branch.".
11. Regulation 30(1) is amended by deleting "by way of an interpreter or otherwise".
12. Regulation 32(2)(a) is amended by deleting "and address".
13. Regulation 37(1) is amended by deleting "the following day" and sub- stituting the following-
"another day not being a public holiday but not more than 4 days (not being public holidays) later”.
14. Regulation 38 is amended—
(a) by deleting "the polling agents" and substituting the following-
"such persons as may then be present in the polling station";
(b) by deleting "and the seals of such polling agents as desire to affix their seals"
wherever it occurs.
15. Regulation 40 is amended--
(a) in paragraph (1) by inserting after "than 2" the following-
"persons who have attained the age of 21 years as";
(b) in paragraph (2) by deleting "2 days" and substituting the following-
"10 days".
16. Regulation 41 is amended by inserting after "presence of the" the following---
"candidates, their election agents or their”.
17. Regulation 47(1) is amended----
(a) by inserting after sub-paragraph (b) the following-
"(ba) which is endorsed on the front with the word "TENDERED";";
(b) by deleting "or torn across the perforations (if any) in accordance with
regulation 45(1)(b)”,
18. Regulation 48 is amended—-
(a) in paragraph (2) by inserting after "any" the following-
"candidate, election agent or":
(b) in paragraph (3) by inserting after sub-paragraph (b) the following-
“(ha) endorsed on the front with the word "TENDERED":".
19. Regulation 52 is amended—
(a) by deleting "(1)”;
(b) by inserting after "presence of the" the following-
"candidates, their election agents or their".

20. Regulation 54 is amended by deleting "Supreme" wherever it occurs and Amendment of substituting on each occasion the following-
regulation 54.

21. Regulation 55 is amended by deleting "Supreme" and substituting the Amendment of following-
regulation 55.
"High".
22. The principal regulations are amended by adding after regulation 60 the Addition of new following-
regulation 60A.
"Powers of delegation by
returning officers.
60A. A returning officer may do, by an assistant returning officer appointed under section 23 of the Ordinance to assist him, any act which he is required or authorized by these regulations to do at an election with the exception of the functions prescribed under regula- tions 9, 49, 50 and 51(1).".
23. Regulation 62 is amended by deleting "the election agents, the polling Amendment of agents or the counting agents of the candidates, the non-attendance of any such regulation 62. agent, or agents" and substituting the following-
"the candidates, their election agents, polling agents or counting agents, the non-attendance of any such person".
24. Regulation 63 is revoked.
25. Regulation 64 is amended-
(a) by deleting paragraph (2) and substituting the following-
"(2) In the case of a returning officer the declaration shall be made in the presence of a justice of the peace, and in the case of any other officer, any candidate or any agent the declaration may be made in the presence of a justice of the peace, Commissioner for Oaths or returning officer.":
(b) by deleting paragraph (3).
26. Regulation 65 is amended-
(a) in paragraph (1) by deleting "being a returning officer or other officer appointed under these regulations, or candidate, election agent, polling agent or counting agent";
(b) in paragraph (2) by deleting “whosoever”.
27. The Schedule to the principal regulations is amended-
(a) in Form 1–
(i) in the English version by deleting paragraphs 2 and 3 and substituting the following-
"2. Nominations for the above vacancies will be received by me or one of my Assistant Returning Officers at (address of the Returning Officer) during office hours on any working day up to and including 31 January (year).
3. Forms of nomination papers may be obtained free of charge during office hours on any working day from me or one of my Assistant Returning Officers at the above address, the registration officer at (address of the Registration Officer), or any District Office.";
(ii) in the Chinese version by deleting paragraphs 2 and 3 and sub- stituting the following-
