Vietnamese Refugees

Thank you for sending me a copy of Moussalli's letter of 1 August 1983 and the UNHCR note on Indochinese refugees. By coincidence, on 17 August Mr. Jamshid Anvar, Director of the UNHCR Regional Bureau for East & South Asia and Oceania, came through Hong Kong and asked to see Patrick Williamson and myself. He then handed us a copy of the same UNHCR paper, and gave us an oral report of events at Honolulu.

From this and a local Canadian source we have gathered that little of significance transpired at Honolulu. There was consensus on the need to continue with resettlement, on as "internationalised"
