PROVISIONAL ANNOTATED AGENDA

Opening of the session
The Chairman of the Executive Committee will open the session on Monday 10 October 1983 at the Palais des Nations, Conference Room XVII.

Election of officers
Rule 10 of the Rules of Procedure of the Executive Committee (A/AC.96/187/Rev.1), states that "the Committee shall, at the first meeting of the first regular session in any one year; elect from among the representatives, for the whole of that year, the following officers of the Committee: Vice-Chairman and Rapporteur".

Adoption of the agenda and other organizational matters
According to Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure, "The provisional agenda for each session shall be drawn up by the High Commissioner and shall be communicated to the Governments members of the Committee, the specialized agencies, the appropriate intergovernmental organizations and non-governmental organizations in consultative status and those referred to in rule 38, with the notice convening the meeting".
According to Rule 5, "The provisional agenda shall include: proposed by the Committce at a previous session,
(a) all items member of the Committee provided that such items are proposed within eight days (b) all items proposed by any after receipt of the provisional agenda; (c) all items proposed by any sub-committee which may have been appointed by the Committee to serve in between its sessions; (d) all items proposed by the High Commissioner".
