The
Your first surmise is the correct one. third week of July was a bumper one for reports of births (this does not mean that the births were necessarily recent: despite our publicity efforts, open centre residents sometimes fail to report births for several months). There were in fact 33 reported births between 12 and 19 July - 25 in Kai Tak and 8 in Jubilee. The net increase in open centre population of 27 is then derived if you deduct 6 cases: 4 transfers to Argyle Street for departure overseas, one settled in Hong Kong under normal immigration criteria, and one death.
There have been no movements from closed to open centres, in order to bring alleged family members together or for any other purpose: and from the cases so far presented, it is most unlikely that there will be any in the immediate future. However, we are about
