We wish to inform you that it is our grade our Hong Kong representative office into branch (subject, of course, to the necessary permits required in your country and in ours being obtained).
We have filed an application with the Bank of Italy and
as soon as we receive the relevant authorisation we shall forward
a copy to you together with all the remaining documents which you require for our formal application.
We trust you are aware
that Banca Commerciale Italiana
is the leading Italian bank as far as international business is concerned; it is a joint stock company and the majority of its capital shares is owned by the IRI group, an Italian state agency.
Our representative office in Hong Kong has given us an additional chance to follow the development and consolidation of your country as an international finance centre and we now feel that it is essential for our world-wide structure to be strengthen ed through our presence in the Far East, where we already have branches in Singapore and Tokyo, as well as a representative office in Peking.
