Mr Luce has asked me to send you the enclosed material:
(i)
The statement made by Mr Luce at his press conference in Hong Kong on 28 September, and a transcript of the question and answer session which followed;
(ii) The communique issued after the last round of discussions
in Peking on 22/23 September;
(iii) The communique issued from No 10 Downing Street today after
the discussions between the Prime Minister and Unofficial Members of the Hong Kong Executive Council.
(iv) Reports of some recent public remarks and statements by
the Chinese.
