LETTER FROM MR ROBERT ADLEY MP: HONG KONG
1.
Mr Adley wrote to the Secretary of State on 1 December enclosing a paper given to him in Hong Kong by the Chairman of Meeting Point, a group which aims to promote the self rule formula for Hong Kong. We first saw the paper some months ago.
Meeting Point's views are of some interest, but as Hong Kong telno 1902 points out the group has pro-Peking inclinations, and is a united front target. It is also frequently critical of the Hong Kong Government on social issues.
A draft reply to Mr Adley is attached.
