CHINESE RESIDENTS IN HONG KONG CAN GAIN THE RIGHT TO LIVE IN
LATIN AMERICA BY PAYING HK$50.000.00.-
Some 'businessmen' have made it known that they can arrange matters for the Chinese of Hong Kong to obtain PRC passports to enable them to live in South America. It should be noted that a PRC passport is difficult to obtain.
Chinese residents in Hong Kong can apply to reside in Chile, Bolivia and Argentine as long as they can pay the 'businessmen' HK$50.000.00 and are prepared to take a vacation period.
The 'businessmen's' profits will be HK$20.000.00. The rest of the HK$30.000.00 will be used to cover the initial expenses while the interested party is in the country awaiting the approval of his application.
For example, in the case of Chile the 'businessmen' offer the prospective immigrants two possibilities a) fast and b) slow:
a) The fast way consists in the 'businessmen' obtaining authority for the Hong Kong immigrants for a 3 months stay, and subsequently a PRC passport would be issued to them.
b) The normal process is that the immigrant deposits the sum of HK$10.000.00 and then waits in Hong Kong for 8 months until the papers are ready.
The applicant must visit and reside in Chile for a period of 10 days. A PRC passport will be given together with the right to reside in Chile. By that time the balance of HK$40.000.00 must be paid immediately.
The 'businessmen' guarantee the return of the money if the application is rejected.
Applicants should not have criminal records nor have committed an offence for trafficking of drugs. Other offences are of no importance.
Once they arrive in Chile, the immigrants from Hong Kong are taken to the Immigration Department in order to coordinate the procedures and obtain the right to reside permanently.
By using the fast process it is only necessary to wait 2-3 weeks to obtain the authority for permanent residence whereas by the slow means the immigrants must wait from 30 to 45 days for the approval.
On arrival in Chile, the Hong Kong immigrant will be guided in order to make courtesy calls on the various Chinese communities and associations and to start the process for obtaining a PRC passport with which he will be allowed to reside in Chile for 9 years.
Those persons who do not wish to obtain a PRC passport will be returned the sum of HK$5.000.00.
