Kuala Lumpur telno 397. It is certainly unfortunate that Dr Mahathir took the opportunity to attack us over Hong Kong. But I am sure that Mr Gilmour is right in saying that we should ignore his outburst. We would get nowhere by criticising him publicly.
2.
At some stage we may want to take the ASEAN countries more into our confidence over Hong Kong and should certainly include Malaysia in that. But we will need to go a good deal further down. the road in the negotiations.
