3. I would be grateful if the Departments indicated could prepare briefs accordingly. We anticipate that the Indians will wish to concentrate on East/West relations, CHOGM (including likely agenda items such as Namibia and disarmament) Arab/Israel and Lebanon, and International Economic Issues Briefs on other issues can be restricted to key points. should cover the specific Indian interest in each topic. briefs prepared for Sir J Bullard's visit to Delhi this week may offer Departments a guide (final copies have been returned to each Department), but as the time for talks with Mr Rao is limited, we are looking for somewhat more succint briefs for the Secretary of State and Lady Young. Departments might also bear in mind that India will be a member of the Security Council from January 1984.
