future of Hong Kong
Please refer to your letter of 21 April to Robin McLaren. I omitted to copy to you my letter of 18 April to Nigel Inkster, for which omission I apologise. Copy now enclosed. I have already made the point to Gary Klintworth that the U.K. does not make money out of Hong Kong and that this notion is one we have been trying very hard to uproot from Chinese minds. The implication was
not lost on him.
